Crush Time

I have an entire bid to put together for tomorrow. It's alot of masonry but the drawings were developed by Architects that have a habit of making a large number of details which makes you look through 50 or 60 drawings with multiple details. It's going to take all day for this.

At the Zoo

Our son really got a kick out fo the Seals at the zoo. He liked the monkey house the most but it was too dark in there.

 

Not at the zoo

Today we went to the Aquarium. It was a hot day but because we're off the ocean there was a nice breeze. My son got a great kick out of watching the fish.

He really like the colorful salt water fish. When he's old enough to watch Finding Nemo he'll point them out.

During the sea lion training session our son was cranky so my wife had to breastfeed him. Our son missed the entire show.

We bought him an Otter sqeaky toy because he was getting such a kick out of it.

Looks like my son has had a little too much to drink. Hehehe. That red-eye remover makes everyone look that way. The first quick flash that gets rid of the red-eye really gets you unaware.


 

At the Zoo

We left for the Bronx Zoo this morning after cancelling an outing to a family friend. They forgot we were coming so we didn't want to impose.

We arrived at the zoo at 11:30 a.m. and it was packed to the gills. The parking at the zoo had reached maximum capacity.

There were so many people there we couldn't see much of the creatures and our son was asleep when we arrived.

When our son awoke, he did get to see the monkeys and the sea lions. He enjoyed that immensely.

We left after walking what seemed like miles.

At the Zoo

Today we headed to the Queens Zoo. When we got there our son was asleep, so we looked around and had a coffee while we waited for him to wake up.

Once he did, his favorite things were petting the Llama, watching the ducks and looking at the Prairie Dogs jump in and out of their holes.

After we left the zoo, my wife took our son on a Carousel ride, we got a caricature picture of him made and then came home.

It's been a long day!

We had a bid in today but we didn't get it. We were about 1.3 million over the lowest bidder.

I guess they didn't see what we saw.

Today he hits 44 weeks.

I got another set of bid documents to prepare a number. Unfortunately the bid is due Tuesday. That wouldn't be so bad except for the fact that Monday is a holiday.

Our 2nd bid was postponed. It turns out we were the only bidder on the job and you need to have two to dance.

We didn't get the first bid, we came in 2nd. The lowest bidder is about 700K lower than we were.

Maybe they'll give the job back. I think they have 3 days to change their minds.

We have 2 bids going in today, one is a masonry restoration job and the other is a floor tile job. We anticipate good numbers on each, looking at the firms that pulled the drawings and specs on those jobs.

We have a bid going in on a flooring job today. It's a small job and a lot of bidders. Things don't look good on this one, but we should be competitive.

Baby Dates

Today our son is 43 weeks old. Ugh...when do we stop counting in weeks?

Star Wars - Ep III

I'm trying to find out a good time I can drop off our son with my sister so we can see the last Star Wars movie. I don't want to wait until it comes to DVD.

Mom's B'day

My mother-in-law had her birthday today. We sent her an order of flowers from her grandson and a seperate bouquet from us. She will receive ours tomorrow but she really loved the ones from her grandson.

My next bid in is Thursday the 19th. It's a medium sized job that's mostly asbestos abatement and tile flooring.
