Trust on machines

The surgical staff does not want to perform surgery to drain the pus because the CT scan taken in the emergency room shows a small pocket of pocket of puss that anti-biotics can handle.

Well earlier today I woke up with my sheets covered in blood and IV fluid. While the nurse was changing my sheets, I remarked that I have been leaking a lot of fluid which the nurse thought was fecal matter. I assured her that I was familiar with cleaning myself, that combined with the fact that I haven't had a bowel movement in 4 days.

It turns out that the staff was only looking at the surface of my abscess and not closer to the anus where the abscess opened up. Now the nurse looks at it and confirms that I'm releasing pus. She immediately calls a doctor over who looks at it and starts treating me.

The doctor thinks I'm ok for surgery to drain but he has to check with the Chief of Staff.
