Our son had a hard time last night. He had a really bad bout of diaper rash. He had a large area of redness across is entire butt. It even spread to his testicles.
We spread a liberal amount of diaper rash cream on him but it didn't help. My wife gave him a bath hoping it will make him feel better but he wanted nothing to do with it. Apparently the water just made it feel worse.
He managed to fall asleep out of sheer exhaustion, although on the positive side we were able to have dinner while he slept. I made a meatloaf (how original) with mashed potatoes and corn. Very simple but effective.

When my children had nappy (diaper) rash, we were recommended to use some cotton wool and dip it into some egg white, and 'paint' the affected area. Leave a short while to dry. I kid you not. Repeat when necessary
The cotton wool and egg white are soft therefore do not aggravate the rash.
Thanks for the advice, I'll give it a try.
