On this the 4th anniversary of the World Trade Center attacks, it's saddening to see just how much has stayed the same since then.
There was a great deal of chest pounding going after Osama Bin Ladin but he's still hanging around.
Our military forces did away with the Taliban in Afghanistan but a large portion of funds and personnel were redirected to Iraq allowing the Taliban to slowly resurge.
The price of gasoline had jumped up to $5.00 a gallon in places and dropped just as dramatically but here we are looking at $3.50 - $4.00 a gallon in many places with no foreseeable future for a quick return to the original pricing.
President Bush stalled and did not react quickly enough to the attacks and once again he did not react quickly enough to the devastation that took place in the Gulf Coast.
There are several more parallels but right now I'm just too saddened and depressed to think about them.
The saddest part is this is the world that my son and his generation will inherit.
